Refinishing

As reality shows, not all of the wood floors need a full sanding job to bring back a new and fresh appearance (unless a color change is needed). Some of them might require what we call a refinishing procedure. Through this procedure, a floor which is scratched or the finish started to wear off, can be recoated or refinished.

This process, as expected, is cheaper than the full sanding job and also quicker. But it can be done only if the finish or stain is not badly worn off or if it does not have heavy dents or gauges throughout the floor.

The process is easier than sanding. We are using a buffing machine (175 RPM) with a dust control vacuum attached (no airborne dust involved in the process) to remove the old finish, scratches, imperfections, dirt built up on the floor. After this, we are applying 1-2 coats of new finish on the floor.

The results are in normal conditions very good and prolong the life of the wood floors quite a bit. This procedure cannot be applied on waxed floors, only if a new coat of wax is to be applied.

Our company offers a wide range of stairs services:

  1. » Replacing old treads
  2. » New risers
  3. » Refinishing existing stairs
  4. » Upgrading stain color and finish

Being a high traffic area, for sanding and refinishing process we are using top-of-the-line penetrating stain and finishes.

Testimonial

Very pleasant. He came, provided quote, agreed on the price and timeline. He came on time to start and finished as promised. Showed us how it would be, communicated very well and did not have any problem. He had the house key but let us know every time when he was coming or going, etc. He finished but he said that he will come and fix some of the places, which we did not noticed. He came and fixed it after we paid him full! We definitely will work with him again in the new house.
